Refund Policy

Important: Please read this policy carefully before making a booking. Cancellation charges vary based on the timing of cancellation and the type of yatra.

1. Cancellation Timeline

Refund amounts are calculated based on when you cancel relative to the yatra start date:

* All refunds are subject to deduction of payment gateway charges (2-3% of booking amount)

2. Pre-Booking (Token Amount)

For yatras marked as "Pre-Booking" where dates are not yet confirmed:

  • Token amount is 100% refundable if dates are not announced within 6 months
  • Once dates are confirmed, you have 7 days to decide whether to proceed
  • If you cancel within 7 days of date announcement: 100% refund
  • After 7 days, standard cancellation policy applies

3. How to Cancel

To cancel your booking:

  1. Email Request: Send a cancellation request to iam@brah.ma
    • Include your booking number
    • Mention your registered email/phone
    • Provide reason for cancellation (optional)
  2. Confirmation: You will receive a cancellation confirmation within 24-48 hours
  3. Refund Processing: Refunds are processed within 7-10 business days

4. Refund Processing

  • Refunds are credited to the original payment method
  • Processing time: 7-10 business days after approval
  • Bank processing may take additional 3-5 business days
  • You will receive a refund confirmation email
  • Payment gateway charges (2-3%) are non-refundable

5. Cancellation by Brahma Yatra

If we cancel a yatra due to unforeseen circumstances:

  • 100% refund of the entire booking amount (including payment gateway charges)
  • OR option to reschedule to another available yatra without any charges
  • We will inform you at least 7 days before the scheduled departure
  • Refunds will be processed within 3-5 business days

6. Force Majeure

In case of cancellation due to force majeure events (natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions, etc.):

  • 75% refund of booking amount, OR
  • 100% credit note valid for 12 months for any future booking
  • Decision on refund vs. credit note is at customer's discretion

Note: We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.

7. Add-Ons and Extras

  • Add-on cancellations follow the same timeline as main booking
  • If you cancel only add-ons (not the yatra): 90% refund if done 7+ days before departure
  • Add-ons cannot be cancelled less than 7 days before departure

8. Partial Refunds

If you need to leave the yatra early or miss part of the itinerary:

  • No refund for unused services or missed days
  • No refund if you voluntarily leave the yatra mid-way
  • Medical emergencies are considered on a case-by-case basis (documentation required)

9. Special Circumstances

Medical Emergencies

If you cancel due to a medical emergency (with valid medical certificate):

  • 30+ days before: 95% refund
  • Less than 30 days: 75% refund
  • Medical documentation from a registered practitioner required

Bereavement

In case of death in immediate family:

  • 90% refund regardless of cancellation timing
  • Death certificate and relationship proof required
  • Alternative: Transfer booking to another family member

10. Non-Refundable Items

The following are non-refundable:

  • Payment gateway processing fees (2-3%)
  • Permit fees already paid to authorities
  • Costs incurred for special arrangements made at your request
  • Third-party booking fees (if applicable)

11. Rescheduling

You can request to reschedule your booking:

  • 30+ days before: One free rescheduling
  • 15-29 days before: ₹1,000 rescheduling fee
  • 7-14 days before: ₹2,000 rescheduling fee
  • Less than 7 days: Rescheduling not permitted

* Price difference (if any) for the new date will apply

12. Refund Request Validity

  • Refund requests must be made within 60 days of the yatra end date
  • Requests after 60 days will not be entertained
  • Provide all necessary documentation within 7 days of request
